“Because the pace of the game will inevitably slow down, I would have chosen Yuzvendra Chahal or Ravi Bishnoi over Ravichandran Ashwin. But I wouldn’t have played them right away in the semi-final; I would have done it a game or two earlier. They would have worked better.
We currently do not have a leg-spinner in the team, which is necessary to win a World Cup. Ashwin has done more than enough to secure his position in the team, even though Axar hasn’t had the best of tournaments. Chahal would have had a chance, but the batting skills of both of the specialized spinners give them a tiny advantage over the leggie.
